Accountable for assigning all freight within their region and supporting carriers in meeting customer service commitments. Responsibilities include utilizing the best cost option available to maximize profitability while ensuring customer requirements are met, building a strong working relationship with their primary core carriers, Truckrail TP’s, STLs and CSRs. They continually seek ways to improve the day to day processes, increase efficiencies, reduce waste and value the orange assets while working directly with carriers to execute the daily work assignments. Responsible to execute and ensure that intermodal processes are efficiently followed, from a customers and providers perspective, from the time that a CSR or them creates the order in the system. This includes all the required work with dray carriers (setting up appointments, guarantee dray capacity, distribute volume based on pre-established allocation criteria, manage day-to-day on-time, etc); Mexican railroads (to reserve space, document loads, expedite shipments, and manage daily operating issues); customers (to efficiently manage paperwork requirements, reduce idle time, improve service performance); and railroads’ custom brokers (to ensure loads are not delayed) and teamwork with the Intermodal Equipment Planner to improve equipment utilization.

Maximize profitability by reducing dray costs and inefficiencies, while ensuring service customer requirements are met, building a strong working relationship with their supply base, such as carriers, railroads, and intermodal terminals; as well as developing a collaborative networking with internal areas and other LOBs, based in Mexico and Green Bay, to meet or exceed business results. MIOS has a direct impact on improving the Operational Excellence, On-Time and Capacity compliance performance with customers, should continually seek ways to improve the day to day processes, increase efficiencies, reduce costs, eliminate losses, and improve value for orange assets

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assign Intermodal freight while effectively balancing capacity, utilizing SNI capacity when the situation warrants and ensure the best use of SNI fleet and equipment type (trailers and containers).
2. Maximize SNI container asset utilization, while reducing chassis per diem costs
3. Maximize utilization of SNI capacity. Help to reduce assets’ turn days and idle time in Mexico, in conjunction with Intermodal Equipment Planner.
4. Ensure accurate and timely status information is updated in appropriate tracking systems.
5. Develop and maintain internal and external relationships through appropriate networking and strong communications.
6. Establish and maintain positive and professional working relationships with carriers.
7. Effectively execute and maintain all systems/processes used in the performance of duties.
8. Provide a strong, effective relationship with the equipment management planner. Effectively manage the utilization and correct location issues of the region.
9. Maintain focus in daily activities to achieve safe and legal transit with 100% customers.
10. Interface with various departments; i.e., IM Regional sales, MX Global group, claims, customer service global accounts, maintenance operations, safety, and outside vendors.
11. Assign Mexico Intermodal freight while effectively balancing capacity and ensure the best use of SNI fleet and equipment.
12. Ensure that intermodal orders are efficiently handled to avoid incremental costs, idle days, and communication and documentation requirements are met on time and in the most effective way to improve Customer Service and SNI Operational metrics.
13. Generate Monthly Execution Scorecards for his/ her region or group of customers.
14. Ensure accurate and timely status is updated in appropriate tracking systems and timely communicated to customers. Proactively communicate and solve service issues to clients.
15. Develop and maintain internal and external relationships through appropriate networking and strong communications.
16. Generate and provide daily shipment status reports to customers to comply with their needs.
17. Effectively execute and maintain all systems/processes used in the performance of duties .
18. Proactively seek for continuous improvement to streamline day to day processes, eliminate inefficiencies, ensure effective internal and external communications and eliminate losses and non-value added activities. 
19. Monitor and provide an equipment assessment for his/ her region or group of customers in order to solve any equipment market imbalance.
20. Monitor performance and implement actions with third party carriers and terminals to improve service and communication, while collaborating with Rail Managers to improve railroads performance. 
21. Maximize SNI profitability through appropriate resources and work group while meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
22. Provide after hours and weekend support as required. Being a back-up for other MX Intermodal Equipment Planners as required.
23. Provide interim (back-up) MIOS/CSR
24. Generate Customers’ Fulfillment Scorecards to track actual volumes Vs. commitments, and develop and execute action plans to improve fulfillment ratio in collaboration with sales team.
25. Perform Quarterly Customer Surveys for his/ her group of customers.
26. Anticipate and pro-actively solve problems.
27. Act as positive role model for other team members.
28. Provides support and enthusiasm to co-workers.
29. Works as a team player.
30. Any other reasonable related job duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1. College degree or 3 to 5 years industry experience. 
2. Previously held a position where sound judgment, initiative and tactful communication skills, while dealing with precise information, were required and successfully demonstrated. 
3. Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
4. Must be flexible and adapt easily to changing priorities.
5. Must be able to prioritize workload.
6. Excellent data entry and accuracy.
7. Excellent attention to detail.
8. Cost reduction and customer service mentality.
9. Possess effective interpersonal oral and written communication skills, both in English and Spanish.
